winXP Pro. I think i found a bug....

1 month ago i installed winXP Pro on one partition just for playing my favorite games online.. . It asked me to activate my copy of windows and i tried that then but it said my code key had been used many times and i would have to call Mr Gates and ask for a new # . I never did and i did not really care if Windows would stop working when the 1 month was due.
I have an original CD windows not a copy.
Today i got a note saying i have 3 days left to activate my windows . So i tried to do it again. I click on activate over the net now but it never asked me to enter a key # and it said you have activated your windows copy !!!!!

It does not matter if your CD (the actual media) is original or not. If the key has been shared or used/activated too many times, it will tell you so. If you have a bad/shared/not yours key, stay away from SP2 or your install will stop working. The only way to fix that is to boot into safe mode and uninstall the SP2 install (so click yes to archive the files if you load SP2).

I am glad that OSS does not go through this crud!
