Hi all
Very very new to this. Using Mandrake 10.
To get my usb modem working I need to to apply a patch to the kernel and then rebuild. I've no problems with this as I have step by step instructions included with the USB modem driver download.
However there is also a kernel upgrade available from Mandrake.
I'm confused as to how I go about this. If I apply the USB patch to the existing kernel then upgrade to newer versions of the kernel as they become available, wont the upgrade overwrite my usb patch, meaning I have to patch and rebuild again?
Or am I completely missunderstanding things and aproaching it in the wrong way (I suspect the latter)
best
Phil
