I finally got a Cisco 340 wireless card to work on a laptop with SuSE 9.1 Pro. But, if I configure the ESSID with either iwconfig or Yast2, the settings are lost when I reboot or if the laptop goes into hibernation.

Where are these data supposed to be stored? Any suggestions?

I'm going to guess, but it might be /etc/pcmcia/wireless.ops

Correct me if I'm wrong on that

It's a different version I know, but in SuSE 8.1 I think the settings are stored in:

file:/etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-eth-pcmcia-0

I am not using ESSID personally, so I could not tell you if this is working in SuSE 8.1 or not. The WEP password is being "kept" after I suspend and then resume uses of my laptop, though, and that info is kept in the same file.

It might be worthwhile checking www.suse.com for any bug patches to download and install for networking.
