DSL... Fine yesterday, not today...

On last install, my dsl worked fine and fast... I reinstalled this morning, and everything seemed fine until I tried to log on (PPOE DSL external modem via ethernet).

The NW monitor comes up, but no contents in the window, and never logs on...

Any ideas what may be wrong?

what are you using for connectiong? rp-pppoe?
why it does not connect? any error displayed or only timeout?
have you checked with your ISP to see if the service is up?

Try running (as root or superuser) ifconfig and see if your eth0 and ppp interfaces are up. If not, run ifup<devicename>.
