automount

I have tried to install autofs or what not and read the readme... after installing it, half the files weren't even in existance and stuff. I'm running Slack 8 and all I want it to do is auto-mount my two cdrom drives and floopy when I try to access them and then umount them after so long or whatever. Mandrake worked perfect by default doing this, but then again, slak is friggin sweet and this is pretty much the last thing that I know of that I "need" heh... to get workin. Anybody point me in the right direction on this or an up to date documentation on the latest release or what not?
