Xmms

Hello, is there a way i can play music from a CD in my cd drive using Xmms??? Im not sure how to do this. Also. is there some application that i can use to test my sound. I havent herd anything since i installed. I dont think that its working...

Just right-click on Xmms and you'll get a menu. For your sound start another post with more system specifics included in your post. Linux distro, version...soundcard.....desktop manager...etc,etc.

To test if your sound works:
cat /dev/urandom > /dev/dsp
This makes noise. Be sure to unmute your card and turn the sound up with alsamixer. (Unmute with "m")
Then run "alsactl store" to save the settings.
