My windows are to big. So big that I cant get to the apply buttons. I went into "panel" but im not sure what to do. My manuals didnt help either. Im wondering if i did something wrong during the install because i didnt have the monitor info - so i just guessed.

You could try to press CTRL ALT + and/or CTRL ALT - to change the screen resolution (use the plus and minus signs on the number pad).
If that doesn't work you could try to run /usr/X11R6/bin/Xconfigurator to reconfigure your display settings.

Just like me a couple of days ago, you posted your message twice. You can delete the unwanted one by clicking on the edit button at the top of the first post.
I am just starting with Mandrake 8.0. I had the same problem today. I had to reduce the resolution that was too high for my 14'' monitor and too much too handle for my 2MB video RAM. I didn't have any problem doing so using Mandrake Control Center. It must be available on 6.1 too. I also did customize individual softwares. It was all rather intuitive.
You didn't say which GUI you're using.
More information wouldn't hurt.

I had that problem when I first started using Linux. If you can't set your resolution higher than 640x480 what you can do is hold the alt button down while you drag the window up so you can see the apply button. Click the mouse in the middle of the window when you do this so you have room to move up. Hope this helps.

I'm gonna nominate this to be included in KDE's Daily tips list.
Thanks!
