I'm new to Mandrake 8.1, and have had a heck of a time trying to use my pppoe/dynamic DSL connec. I have a ethernet based modem, with 2 3Com NICs. I have been using the ADSL dialer inside of the Madrake Control Center to connect, and it rarely connects (i.e. sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't). Plus you have to login as root each time, which sucks.

Is there a relatively easy to install/use DSL dialer program available for Mandrake 8.1/Linux?

I installed an RPM of that Penguin rpppoe dialer mentioned here in the past, but am befuddled as to how to even begin using it!

I have not used Linux for about 2 years, and alot of this stuff is new all over again, so thanks for any help!

Have you read the documentation for Roaring Penguin? After installation just run adsl-setup and answer the questions.

I read the documentation and got it installed and am online. Thing is, I can only use it as root...My user acct can't use it. Looked over the documentation, and couldn't find any docs on it.
