Please don't beat me to bad I'm a newbie. I've been looking for a decent ftp site to get the Suse 7.3 ISO's for last couple hours. Suse's site is a dog. I'm downloading at 6 or 7k when I should be geting 80 to 120K easy. That turns an hour wait into fifty. If you really feel sorry for me can you please point me to the best site that contains several distributions. I'm deturmined to try them all. I tried the search function on this site but it takes anywhere from 2 - 17 minutes per search. Thanks for you help.

Hey Thanks,

That well help alot. Question though. Why are all the Suse downloads evaluation copies. Do they not have a full downloadable version anymore. I purchased 7.1 and liked it but I'm not going to dish out another 70 bucks for point releases. If there is a full 7.3 release somewhere send me a link. Thanks

's far as I know Suse is not in the habit of giving away their full versions for free. The only free downloadable version you'll find is the evaluation one.

Not sure if this'll help but have you tried using Download Accelerator on a nearby Windows box? It snags the file from multiple locations at the same time and builds the file from that.

If I knew of a Linux program that did the same thing, I'd recommend that.

I'm a Linux newbie slowly trying to make the transition.

Check out Web Downloader for X at http://www.krasu.ru/soft/chuchelo/

Last I checked, it doesn't do the parallel download and reassemble deal that DAP does, but I have a 56k dial-up, so it doesn't make much difference for me.

HTH,
