I have built kernel 2.6.5 with full acpi support, but am not getting any battery information in my /proc/acpi/battery directory... Any advice? I'm running a Gateway 200 Eb.
Thanks,
Mike

(I also need it loaded to get events from /proc/acpi/event about when the button gets pressed.) cybertron 06-07-2004, 08:46 PM You might also need to add "acpi=force" to your kernel parameters. I'm not familiar with that computer, but ACPI is automatically disabled on certain BIOSes that are detected as broken in some way. Sometimes it will work fine anyway though. sclebo05 07-13-2004, 12:03 PM Thanks to all who posted here, helped me out. I just upgraded my slackware 10.0 kernel from 2.4 to 2.6 , and my battery just 'disappeared'. did a modprobe battery, and my /proc/acpi/battery directory appeared and began working. I am posting this in case anyone else has the same issue with slack on a Dell Inspiron 1100 justlinux.com
