root$ yast2
yast warning: the qt frontend is installed but does not work
warning: the ncurses frontend is installed but does not work
You need to install yast2-ncurses to use the YaST2 text mode interfac

The first thing I would do is re-install Yast2.
The second thing is "export PATH=/path/to/yast2-ncurses' (not the rpm but the library file)

I'm having the exact same problem. I select yast2 and nothing happens. When I try to run it from the command line I'm getting the same message you got.

Also running SUSE 9.1

Did you find a solution?

A response to your question suggested re-installing yast2. Did that solve the problem?

I'd appreciate any advice you could give--since you've just had the same problem less than a month ago!

Did you checkout this thread (http://justlinux.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=129663) just one down (was) from yours on the exact same problem?

No use having two threads going on the same problem. You should follow and contribute to the existing thread. :)

Sorry about that! I saw the other thread and posted to both of them because I wanted to make sure that the two individuals who also had the same problem saw my query. However I should have PM'ed one of them and just posted on one thread.
