After reading a recent /. article, I decided to take the plunge and try running my system with zero swap. Overall it seems vastly more responsive, even in the console. On the other hand, I've noticed that as I keep running, certain programs start eating up more and more RAM. In particular, after running X.org 6.7 for about a day it's now using 36M resident + 71M shared. Is this normal?

Any opinions/advice would be greatly appreciated. :)

After reading through the above, I decided to keep my swap.
