I have recently been charged with coming up with a tape backup solution for my Novell 5 server. I have managed to get my Novell partitions mounted with Novel Client.
I now need to find a fairly user friendly tape backup program as I will not be in charge of actually administering the server. Those who use it will not be as Linux knowledgable as I. Any suggestions?

you may find this interesting it is only a 30 day free try but it looks like it may do the trick http://www.arkeia.com/products.html
I found out about it in this article http://linuxpr.com/releases/5374.html

You could also look at the following website: NovaStor (http://www.novastor.com/windows/linux.html)
We use Nova Net Backup at my work with a Sony Tape Drive. It is fairly straight-forward and easy to use.

I guess I should specify that I am looking for a GNU/GPL or similar licensing as our budget is severely limited.
Thanks for any further help,

You could try looking at the attached HTML file. We were thinking about using the CLI since at the time we purchased the tape drive not much software was available for using it in Linux.

When I've searched for backup software, I found http://freshmeat.net to have lots of great packages available.

I have settled on Storix (http://www.storix.com) they have a fairly inexpensive version I can use.
Thanks for all your help,

Storix was not very user friendly at all.
There is good news however.
Arkeia (the backup program mentioned in the first reply) has a light version that is free to the linux user. This version has full support for backing up up to three computers.
You can check it out here. (http://www.arkeia.com/downloadlight.html)
Note: I have switched the backup machine to SuSe 9.x for ease of administration.
Thanks for everyone's help,
