Perl Locales?

Whenever I try and run a perl script, I get the warning:

perl: warning: Setting locale failed.
perl: warning: Please check that your locale settings:
LANGUAGE = (unset),
LC_ALL = (unset),
LANG = "en_US"
are supported and installed on your system.
perl: warning: Falling back to the standard locale ("C").
------

I've searched the web endlessesly for a solution, but I can't get the Forum Search here to work. Does anyone know how to fix this??
