I just installed gentoo 2004.1 on the pc and need to install grub. I have done gentoo/grub installs before and know that my pc only works with some "makeactive" command in the windows xp section of the grub.conf Can anyone give me an example of that to refresh my memory? I would really appriciate that. Thanks guys! :D

Why would you not search the JL forums for 'makeactive' (http://justlinux.com/forum/search.php?s=&action=showresults&searchid=954889&sortby=lastpost&sortorder=descending) to find plenty of examples yourself instead of posting a new thread?
We have a great search feature here at JL that works quite well. Please give it a try and you'll see. :)

Have a look at /boot/grub/grub.conf.sample, it's there for that purpose.
