This is probably my 100th attempt to set up GRUB. I'm wondering where most people download it from so i can be sure to get the right version. Then i'll probably need help setting it up and in the end, like every other time i'v tryed this, i'll probably give up and go back to using a rescue disk to boot like I am now. Oh well, its worth another try. So first off, where do most people download it from?

Well, I notice you are using Slackware. If I remember correctly, Grub should be included on the Slackware CD. (Did you select it when you installed Slackare.) If not, go back now and pull it off the CD, then, follow the numerous amount of tutorials online on how to setup Grub. (I believe there's a nice one on this website.)

Then I guess you dont remember correctly... Slackware uses lilo not grub and lilo fails everytime I try to install it.

Gogeta_44,
is this problem still related to this thread http://www.justlinux.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=126692&perpage=15&highlight=slackware%209\.1%20grub&pagenumber=2
are your drives still setup the same way?

based on the way your drives are setup
hda:
hda1 = Windows XP
hdb:
hdb1 = Slackware 9.1
hdb2 = Linux Native Swap
hdb3 = Fat32 Backup
it looks like your best option would be to try using a third party bootloader like johnT suggested here http://my.justlinux.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=127644&perpage=15&pagenumber=3
what is on your hda?
:)
