I am trying to play midi files using kmid.. I can see the song playing but I do not hear anything.. I also tried a program named 'midi' on freshmeat.. same.. What is wrong?

Volume settings? Device permissions? Kmidi sound output device settings?
We have lots of soundcard related threads here that include loads of troubleshooting ideas. Have a look/search through those and try some of them.
Have a look through the Kmidi documentation. Mine is in
