How can I get the Gaim online times to work properly? It says everybody has been online ~11 hours all the time, it used to say everyone has been online ~231456 hours before. I am using Gentoo 1.4, I have the time set for local time if that makes a difference, not GMT.

What version of Gaim are you using? Are you using the AIM protocol, or are you logged into another service (Yahoo, MSN, etc)
Let us know.

Gaim version .77, I'm using the AIM/ICQ protocol.

Actually, now that I think about it, I had a similar problem for awhile. I'm not really sure what fixed it, though. (I think I just upgrade to .77 and it was fine.)
Maybe you could try reinstalling .77, or something along those lines. Otherwise, you may want to file this as a bug on the GAIM website.

Sorry I don't have any more info.
Haha, BTW, I just noticed your user name. I found it funny, 'cause one of my friends today said something along the lines of: "Drinking Guiness [beer] is like drinking liquid beef."
:p Just found that kinda humerous.

I used to have that problem. I don't know what I did to get it to start working again... try upgrading/reinstalling gaim.

So its gaim for sure? It's not something to do with my clock settings or anything? Would setting my clcok to NTP or something along those lines possibly help?

No, 'cause I had similar problems in two different distros (Mandrake and Gentoo), so I'm pretty sure its Gaim.
Although, you're always welcome to try changing your clock -- it may be a workaround for the problem.
