I just went out and bought a Dual DVD/CD/-RW drive. It's a Micro Advantage. I have never had a DVD burner before so I'm not sure what all there is that works to burn DVD's as far as software goes.
I was actually just wandering if anyone has had any problems with this drive? I burned a CD just to test it out, and it burned with no problems other then a lower total speed. It will burn CD's at 40x (DVDs at 8x) and it only got up to 20x.. No biggie though.
So anyway, instead of making two threads, what software should I use for burning DVDs?
I'm so exited! :)

XCdroast, K3b. Two off the top of my head.

K3b works great with my LG DVDWriter. I even have it in a external case (USB 2.0) and whenever I power it on, hotplugging detects the DVDWriter, loads the required modules (usb-storage) and then it's available in K3b.

Thanks for help there. I didn't see any options off hand for DVD writting in K3b that's why I asked. :)
Well I'm still figuring this whole dvd burning thing out. I didn't know it was so complicated. What I mean is that not all blank media works on all drives, and so forth. I thought I could just buy any blank media and burn away! But of course not.
So I guess it's all trial and error finding what works and what does not.
Now to figure out how to upgrade the firmware.. Nothing but exe's and not a windoze box in site.

IIRC k3b only recently started including dvd capabilities, so you should make sure your running the latest/greatest if you want to use k3b, i like the dvd+rw tools myself, for cli stuff

What distro/version and the version of K3b are you using?
maccorin is correct as you need to have the dvd+rw package installed.
I have dvd+rw-tools-5.12.4.7.4-11 and K3b version 0.10.
In the K3b 'Tools' menu
DVD ->
Copy DVD
Format DVD-RW/DVD+RW
Burn DVD ISO Image

Suse 9.1 Pro, and K3b 11.7. I found the options for the DVD now. I just never looked for them before, so I guess I just missed them.

I'll be expecting a DVD copy of SuSE 9.1 Professional in the mail next week. :p
