Help, i just installed 8.1 with lnxwin(win98) <partition magic> and when i try to boot up my cd rom or floppy from mandrake it tells me no.... do i need to use my boot floppy to get the cdrom working what the %^$#%???? over.... :eek:

You need to go into your BIOS on bootup and set your CD-ROM as bootable.

hihihi.. I guess you mean it can't read the drives right? Not the booting stuff. Well, Linux, has nice a procedure that is called mounting.

You actually use the command "mount" to mount a device you want to read from.

I won't write anything further since I'm not sure if this is actually your ptoblem. If it is just ask or find a help file about mount.

Mounting is easy, don't worry.
