I need some help. I have installed Mepis Linux on my A31P but I can't get it to display anything other than 1024x768. If anyone could help me this would be good

Have you tried Ctrl+Alt (+ -)? This will cycle you through the resolutions you have available. For a permanent solution you can add your preferred resolution to your /etc/X11/XFConfig(-4) file.
