Hi, I wanna start learning Linux. I,ve got a pentium machine, 166 Mhz, 16M RAM, 2G HD on which I want to install Linux. The problem is that all the Linux packages I´ve read (Mandrake, Red Hat,...) specs require 32M RAM or more. Is there a Linux package out there, suitable for my machine (without having to increase memory.) ?

Thank you

there are more flavors of linux than you have fingers and toes. you and your whole family.

peanut linux and tiny linux you can look up for starters. there are also floppy-sized distributions.

there a list of some on this google directory, it's probably a good place to start: http://directory.google.com/Top/Computers/Software/Operating_Systems/Linux/Distributions/Tiny/
