Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : changing ident
the ident in slackware linux 9.1 always stays with 1000@whatever, I changed my username and everything to ops in xchat but it still doesnt recognize it, I use xchat in windows and it works fine......I really need this to work because on a private channel I use, the bots wont recognize me.

I've never experienced your problem in X-chat. Where are you seeing this?

ok you know how in xchat settings, You can pick 3 nicks, incase they are taken?
Then its the username? I put ops, for real name, I put ops, I unchecked global user info and proxy as well.
On my router I opened up port 113, it recognizes ident just fine but it just doesnt work. Im not doing anything differently from what I do in windows.
