In Mandrake 7.2 Im running Gnome. Im using VIM to program webpages and it has the color shading but the only problem is the the xwin version has a white background. Is there anyway to change this?

Yes, you change stuff like that in the .gvimrc file in your home directory. If you don't see the file in your home directory, you need to copy the example rc file from /usr/share/vim and tweak that.
