I am having trouble setting up GKrellm to work with the mail indicator for KDEmail. I am using Mandrake, and I am trying to add the path /home/username/Mail/inbox as the mailbox to monitor however it doesnt show me anything when I get mail.
I had been using this feature with Evolution and it worked fine, however Evolution was a little buggy for me. I would rather not have the mail checked directly on the server as I like to leave copies of my more important mail on the server....
Any ideas?

Hello. If you're using a pop account for your mail, you will need to put in your info for the account:
pop.server.adddress username password
Checking the files in your Mail dir won't do anything since the email has not been retrieved from the server. Once you have that set in Gkrellm, you can put kmail -check for the mail reading program, so that clicking on the mail button in gkrellm will open up kmail and checks that account (you have to set it up kmail to check the same pop account).

I am always connected to the net and my Kmail is always loaded and retrieves mail every 5 minutes.
When I used evolution I could specify my .mbox file and whenver I got new mail in evolution it would notify my GKrellm. This is how I would like it setup again only with Kmail. Since I like to leave my mail on the pop server just having GKrellm checking the POP account does me no good because it constantly shows messages on the pop server as new.

You can set up a local mailbox with fetchmail (quite easy, just search google), and then it can check your local mailbox.
