I have decided to get rid of my nforce2 board. mainly because of the DMA bug that causes my system to lockup.

Anyways,

Does kernel 2.6.x have good support for this VIA KT600 chipset?

I am torn between the Albatron KX600 Pro and the MSI KT6V-LSR. they both use the KT600 and both are the same price. I think i might settle for the Albatron for a change since i've had MSIs in the past ..

Thanks

Hello Reiign,

I don't know where you're located, but here in the Uk a firm called Optronix are selling a kt600 board which is pleasing everybody who tries it.

Optronix give excellent support, it seems. The board is apparently of high quality and should you have to RMA it you would send it straight back to Optronix no matter where you bought it from.

You could search the kernel mailing lists

http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=linux-kernel

and G4L to see if anyone has reported any problems with the 2.6 kernel and the KT600.

EPoX "EP-8KRAI". its in the same price range as the msi but its got 3 ram slots instead of 2 :)
