Disableing services/ports

I scanned my computer with nmap, and noticed some ports open. Some I recognized and new needed to be left open, but others I'd like to close. However, after looking through /etc/inetd.conf and the rc#.d directories, I didn't see any way to kill them. How can I turn this stuff off?

Ports in question are:

1024 - kdm
1025 - listen
1032 - iad3

See /etc/services for these ports and comment them as you see fit...hope this helps
