I am having serious trouble installing UT2k4 onto my Gentoo using the cds ... It usually end up hard locking the system during cd 2.

So what i did is take all the cds, put all the files in the appropriate directories. CD2 has partial Textures, CD3 has more so i added them, same with sounds, and everything else. Then I put them in /home/paul/ut4cds

now, i want the installer to take the files from HD.

I was trying to figure out the linux install script but couldnt exactly make the part where the reference to the cd is so i can change it to a staic directory.

Any help ?

Try defining the CDROM as another directory, I have no idea if this will work...

export SETUP_CDROM=/where/you/saved/them

Thank you.

That actually worked.

It didnt even ask for a CD. it just installed from where i copied the CDs.

Now, if it only would NOT LOCKUP!!! GOD I AM GOING MAD! (See my thread in the technical section)
