It is said that if you build a better mouse trap, the world will beat a path to your door. Since I have no interest in vermin control, I'd like to instead try to build a better distro. To that end, I'd appreciate some feedback and ideas regarding the new distro (Maximum Linux; http://www.sourceforge.net/projects/maxlinux/ ) currently under development. More specifically:

1. What do you feel should be the target audience?

2. Is there anything lacking in other distros that you think would make a good added feature?

3. Where have you encountered problems in other distros in the past?

4. What do you feel needs to be upgraded or improved?

All feedback should be posted on the Maximum Linux forum ( https://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?forum_id=68986 ) or post followups here. (The former would be better, but you must have a SourceForge account; also it would let the Developers know what you would like to see and whatnot). Thank you for your feedback and comments.

Also, if you would like to be part of the MLP, then you require a SourceForge ( http://www.sourceforge.net/ account, if you don't have one then you must signup for one and send me your username to ce940@hotmail.com so that I may add you to the project.

As a casual user for about a year, and only recently a professional user:

A distro that focuses greatly on hardware compatibility and configuration. My idea distro would have an extensive collection of modules that could be easily configured, loaded, and unloaded using a nice menu or easy console tools. I would like to see the distro have compatibility for all of the Voodoo cards to date, including the new 5 and 6 (for whoever has one). It should also automatically configure Glide and OpenGL to satisfy the gamers.

I have never ran into a problem with any distro that drove me not to like it.

I guess I would be easy to please.
