Shutdown/Standby

Currently running Mandrake 9.0 and would like to know if there is a way to put my pc into a standby mode. I'm looking for a way to just "lightly" power it down then just shake the mouse to bring it back up.

You need to specify APM settings in the bios and then load your APM module at startup. I don't how to set it in Mandrake..m/b in on of its control centers. Do you have a /etc/rc.d/rc.modules file?
