Autoslack help

Autoslack 1.7
Moudules downloaded and install via CPAN
Autoslack compiles, makes and installs with no error.
When I run it it bails with the error
"cant find autoslack.conf."

I find "autoslack.conf" in /usr/etc/
But NO "autoslack.conf."

The makefile refers to autoslack.conf.5 I'm confused...anybody?

When I installed autoslack this weekend, it wanted to put the config files in /etc/autoslack ...

The autoslack.conf.5 reference is to a man page (man autoslack.conf)
