tpconfig oddity

I have a HP Pavilion ze4560 with a synaptics touchpad. In the stock 2.4.22 kernel tapping worked but when I upgraded to 2.6.4 it no longer worked so I got tpconfig. It says Synaptics or ALPS not found. I know its there because it worked at one point and I see info about the synaptics touchpad on bootup. Any ideas?

Sorry as I have no idea since I've never used tpconfig or synaptics. I do however remember we've had other threads posted here on tpconfig or synaptics.

Have you tried searching the JL forums for either one or the 2.6 kernel changelogs/changes etc. to see if anything has been changed regarding the 2.6 kernels and synaptics/tpconfig/ALPS?
