hi,
i'm looking for some good software for the data warehouse of the company i'm working for. our current solution uses Cognos products but they don't have anything for Linux (we're using Windows now).

so that's how i found business objects, the company that makes crystal.
does crystal work for Linux? (i'm using SuSE 9.0 to test stuff)
will i need some sort of emulator before i could get it to work or is their a separate Linux version available?

thanks !

This is the package listing for SuSE 9.0 Pro

http://www.suse.com/us/private/products/suse_linux/i386/packages_professional/index_all.html

of which you should find one or two reporting packages. Just do a find for 'report'.

You can search freshmeat.net and sourceforge.net for reporting packages.

I have no idea if Crystal Reports works with Wine or WineX though you can search their known working application database to see if Crystal is listed.

this is "supposedly" the closest thing to Crystal Reposts that exists for *nix.

(I have not personally tried it myself)
