Hello all,

iīm a linux-newbie and new to this forum.
Yesterday I installed YDL 3.0.1 and it works fine. I donīt really need it, but iīd like to try it seriously. On the other hand, there is no use to test linux, if I canīt find a way to move data and files from my OS X HD (dev/hda) to my linux partition on dev/hdb.
As you see, I have two harddrives, one ist the original one ("hda") in my G4 1 GHz, the other one ist partitioned: 100 GB free, 17 GB left for ydl and itīs several "hdb"īs.
Iīd like to move my files from the Linux Environment to my Mac-Environment and vice versa. I could use:
The free Disk space on dev/hdb
USB-Stick
floppy drive
compactflash card on a card-reader.

Thank you for you questions,
Hyper from Berlin

P.S.
As I still own the Install-CDīs for Mac OS 10.0, 10.1 and 10.2 maybe I could format my free disk space as hfs.

I'm thinking the best thing to do would be format it HFS, no journalling. If possible, don't use HFS+, either-- just HFS.

Linux has decent support for using HFS volumes, but not that great for HFS+. AFAIK, YDL can't recognize the UFS partitions from OS X. Even if it could, I don't think write support would be there...

For those who search before asking ;-)
This

seems to work.
Havenīt tried it seriously yet, but I created a .doc file with Open office and could open and edit later in Word for Mac.
