Well, after a long week of downloading, i finally thought i had it all set. I downloaded the entire suse FTP install tree off a local mirror. All files downloaded fine, except for one, called packages.sk (was seen as a folder by flashfxp). So i decided to verify the files against the official suse ftp, so i connected again with flash fxp, and copyied the whole tree, but no files were missing, yet again the file packages.sk didnt download. I then used windows IE and went to the location of the folder, however, it was displayed as a file, so i copied it to my source tree. When downloaded, it was 1.25 megs, the ftp displayed it as 11 kb.
Heres the problem, i have setup my windows box with a temporary ftp server, booted my linux box with the boot.iso cd rom disc. I manage to load all network drivers, configure my nic, connect to my local ftp, and load yast. It prompts me for location and language, it then checks my installation settings, however, when it comes to the packages selection or display, there is none there, and iam left with the following message
" Cannot read package data from installation media. Media error?
*ERROR: No proposal
"
I have searched and searched (including google, newsgroups, irc, and this forum) for anwsers but cannot find any. I believe its this packages.sk file or folder or what ever it is if someone has this would they mind contacting me or emailing it to me please. (bobjoe@iinet.net.au)
