Hello,
On my IBM A31 laptop I have installed knoppix 3.3 and it is apt-get to stable packages. I seem to have two problems, When I open my lid its runs REALLY slow until I fix the network interface. After that it runs.. ok. I run top and it says I have about 80-20M of avaible ram out of 512M and all the apps are consistant with thier typical memory usage.
Now here is the strange thing. If I run memtest 512M and kill it after a few seconds, I run top and the avaible memory is correct?
I guess my question would be how do I trouble shoot this? I see nothing in the logs of any intrest. I close all of the desktop apps before I close the lid. I'm just at a loss.
