Help with Mandrake 8 and XFree 4.0.3

Well, I go to Hardware/Display, go to expert tab, and see that I'm running Xfree 3.x.x. So I select the newest version, click test, and it's all good. When I come back I'm still in the old resolution and old Xfree even though I confirmed that test went fine. So I restarted X server, but I'm still in the old mode. How do I force XFree 4.0.3? I have a nVidia GeForce 256 card.

could you give some info...like is this an upgrade or a fresh install? If its a clean install, just check the box for 4.0.3 durring the installation process and you should be golden.

This is a fresh install and I was not offered the option to choose which XFree to install (I installed in recommended mode). I would like to switch to XFree 4.0.3 because the short 8 second test revealed that I can finally strech the picture using monitor controls to fit entire screen.

Nevermind, with some twiddling I managed to do it... It's all perfect now...
