RedHat: v 7
Sound Card: SB Live! Value
Instructions used:http://www.linuxnewbie.org/nhf/intel/soundcards/sblive.html

I used ftp to dwnld emu10k1-20011126.tar.gz from opensource.creative.com. I went through the steps found in linusnewbie.org.NHF.(see above) However, after running the gzip and tar commands I:

cd emu10k1

then

rm *dep*

this is where I get the error: cannot remove '*dep*': no such file or directory.
The process falls apart from there. I was so close I thought. Anyone know how I can get around this? Thanks.

hello,
what happens when you type modprobe emu10k and then try to play a sound?

After I get the error(see above post) I ran:

modprob emu10k1

and got

Note: /etc/modules.conf is more recent than /lib/modules/2.2.16-22/modules.dep

How does this affect the driver Im trying to install?
