I am trying to install gentoo on my Compaq Presario 1200 notebook. I have a PCMCIA network adapter that I am trying to use for the install however when I boot the gentoo kernel with the dopcmcia option I get the following error:
PCMCIA enabled via cmdline...
'modprobe i82365' failed
Trying alternative PCIC driver: yenta_socket
Starting pcmcia...
cardmgr[1605]: no pcmcia driver in /proc/devices
cardmgr failed to start. Make sure you have PCMCIA
modules built or support compiled into the kernel
I may just have to do a networkless install, cause the problem seems to be in the kernel or module compiled into the LiveCD. But I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions.
