Hi Folks. I have also installed Fedora 1.0 and it is on my slave HD..master HD has XP pro installed. I dual boot with XP as the primary OS with in Grub bootloader. My problem is I cant seem to get Fedora to show hda as mounted so I can read files stored within XP. Can anyone give me help on how to get Fedora to read hda. Mandrake 9.1 works and Xandros does also.
Cheers Tim.
P.S. I,m a green as they come and command line skills are limited.

Have you tried searching and reading other's?

seems like you just didnt, post your /etc/fstab file to this and hope someone will look at it.

it may just be that you havent mounted it or you havent allocated space(empty directory) for it and you dont know the basic commands around mount

Or better: you are using gnome and you do not know how to munt in gnome graphically...

We need more info or you should just read other's work...

Please post when you have results, just enough to let us know your progress.

1. do you have ntfs support in your kernel or as a module (and loaded)? either way will do.

2. do you have the drive mounted?

3. have you searched our forum yet? there are numerous threads explaining how to mount NTFS partitions.

Are the partitions on hda you are attempting to access formatted as NTFS?

Redhat and likely Fedora do not include ntfs support. See the NTFS link in my signature.

Also have a look at the contents of /etc/fstab to see if there are any /dev/hda# devices.

cat /etc/fstab (at the commandline to check)

Hi Guys... sorry I havent given enough info. OK ..under MNT all I see is cdrom, cdrom ,cdrom1 and floppy.
My file system for XP Pro on hda is fat 32 (as I read from this in Mandrake 9.1 and Xandros) and I do realize that Fedora hasnt mounted hda....just cannot see were I can do this.
The desktop in Fedora is running on KDE.
Thanks ..Tim.
