Right now, I'm using Mandrake 10 Community with a custom 2.6.5 kernel; I need the 2.6.5 kernel for my ATI Remote Wonder.

Edit:

Going to switch back to Mandrake 9.2.

Fedora at work, since I teach a class using it. Fedora at home for the same reason, but I used to use Slack 9.1 in both places. My mail/dns/web server at home is Debian. Used to use LFS and Gentoo...

I really don't have much choice since i can't seem to get any distro to fully work with the NForce2 Ultra chipsets other than Mandrake 10.0. Guess if I have to be stuck with one this one is not too bad.

No kidding, geez guys :D

I've been too busy trolling Slashdot trying to educate the brainless (hopeless cause, but maybe one or two will learn something) :)

Let's see how long this poll keeps 'normal' now

I admit I edited the poll once :p

Guys, is Mike the mod who likes to play with the polls?

:D

Mepis on my desktop(not for much longer, moving to Mandrake 10), and Slackware 9 on my gameserver(UT2004, SOF2, CS, RTCW, ET, Quake 3, not all at once of course....:).

Pain, you might want to try Mepis, it runs pretty well on my Abit NF7-S (running it on an IDE drive since it doesn't recognize the SATA controller). You might want to try and see how you like it, it's a bootable distro with a nice, easy hdd installer.

I use tons all the time... right now (2:16am EST) finishing up a Gentoo install, also got FreeBSD 5.2.1 running, and downloading Linspire 4.5 and one called DeLi .5

I personally would have found it interesting to know the real results of that poll. Oh well...

XiaoKJ

Actually, if everybody had a chance to vote in the poll all the time, I would have voted all of them

why? I newbie should start from the basics, Redhat/Fedora, Mandrake and SuSE, all without fail to feel linux and the distro differences. Then they will proceed along to the others and will at least use all of them once.

Thus, the poll results should be the same even if it were not tampered with. It reflects the people using linux and linux users are a mixture of similar amounts of people along the learning curve. As the now newbies move up newer newbies will take their places.....

First Redhat 8, then Redhat 9, and now SuSE 9...

Some say SuSE is 'bloated', but I like it... Will probably try out Slack or Gentoo someday...;)

You know, you'd think the board software would complain when there are 16 times more votes than registered members!

Well maybe unless guests can vote or something like that... but i don't think they can...

It's nice to see that the mods get to have some fun (and a break from answering the usual newbie questions) ONCE in a while :)

Manually editing 'polls' is about the only fun the other moderators are allowed to have here at JL. ;)

Gentoo 2004.1 right here. good stuff. if you're lazy its good, oh except for the good 12+ hour install. Of course, it can be much less, but you know how it is...
