Download the .pdf users documentation while your there. There's no directions for Linux , but some good tips can be had from the OSX and Win setups. Check that your USB modules are operational before even beginning. Determine whether your protocol is PPPoE or PPPoA. This can be found from your ISP. If your new to Linux, familiarize yourself with file manipulation and some basic commandlines, it will help. Then when you have questions come back and lay them out step-by-step, with what you have attempted. This will help us get you going in the shortest possible time. If your not sure how to do something, please ask before you do it. It makes it more difficult to help when there are additional problems to deal with. The only reason I am saying this is that there have been a few that have asked for help on this modem, only after they had attempted and botched an install badly....it took days to get them out of it.

There is also an opensource driver with excellent documentation here....

You might have better luck with it.

Doesn't Mandrake 9.2 already include Speedtouch support? Check/search the Mandrake website and also check to see if you have any speedtouch rpm packages.

This site lays it out in a procedural format. Gives the link for the downloads you need. Do it step-by-step. When you get to a step that you don't understand or not clear on, post here. Making general statements as the above doesn't help us help you.

As I've posted in other Mandrake/Speedtouch threads here at JL, Mandrake does include a Speedtouch rpm package on their installation cd's.

ftp://mirror.fis.unb.br/pub/linux/Mandrake-old/9.2/i586/Mandrake/RPMS/speedtouch-1.2-1mdk.i586.rpm

BTW... Searching the JL forums for 'mandrake speedtouch' will find previous threads on the same subject.
