My SuSE 9.0 doesn't detect my card reader on boot unless there's a card in it. Then it detects it as a drive and I can read my cards-no problem. I've done a search and can't find anything exactly like my problem in the archives. If I leave a card in, SuSE sets a icon on my desktop with /dev/sda1. File system=default. mount point /media/sda1. sda1 2. How do I get SuSE to mount the reader after I've booted when I insert a card? Thanks.

As "su", "mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/media/sda1". Make sure the is an entry in the /mnt directory called /media.

Actually SuSE uses /media instead of /mnt though /mnt still does exist.
