hello all,
I have RH8 installed in my machine with HSP56 Micromodem(on-board). i found many modem drivers and tried to insert it using insmod command. but, i got the error message that says, the version with which the programs compiled are not equal to the compiler the system has. when i try to compile it, i get a huge error messages.

any help would be greately appreciated.

I've seen that problem posted here many times, so I would suggest you try searching the JL forums, G4L or Redhat's site for the compiler mismatch error message.

Are the isp dns servers in /etc/resolv.conf?

domain isp_domain.com
nameserver xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx # isp dns 1
nameserver xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx # isp dns 2

when you go and view /etc/resolv.conf does it show your Internet Providors info, such as IP address, server names, etc does it show inaccruate info?
