I am wondering what the best terminal program is out there. I am using Mandrake 7.2 and 8.0. The terminals I have been using with them do not allow for copy/paste (or I'm stupid...which isn't out of the question).

Just thought I would throw it out there and find out what everyone uses. Or at least find one that allows for pasting into the program.

Under xterm, whatever is highlighted will be copied to the clipboard, so long as it remains highlighted. For example, I could have an URL in the terminal, so I highlight it, open up netscape, paste it, and then unhighlight it in the terminal window. Eterm (or Aterm is the newer one) is really nice for graphics and looking good, but I like xterm...simple and gets the job done :)

How about pasting INTO the terminal. That is where I seem to be having trouble. If I want to paste an URL from a browser into a terminal window...

Thanks...

webbcite...it should be done the same way. (middle button). I personally wouldn't use xterm, as it has many bloated features that you'll never use.

I'd use rxvt instead of xterm...but eterm and aterm are much prettier :)

Nope...I tried "terminal", eterm, and rxvt. I just don't seem to be able to paste into any of the terminal sessions.

Not sure what you mean by the "middle" button. Are you talking about a wheel mouse?

Anyone, anyone, Bueller, Bueller...

Middle button would be either the middle button on a 3 button mouse or pushing down on the wheel on a wheel mouse. If you only have a 2 button mouse you can emulate 3 buttons by turning the feature on in your XF86Config file. With 3 button emulation turned on you would press both buttons at the same time to emulate a third button.
