Hi, I went across the net that we can actually play PS2 games on a normal PC be it windows or linux. So long you got a DVD Rom. Wow...thot that was something...maybe I'm ignorant..but i really have no ideas about it..
I later did a search on google and found out that for a PC to emulate PS2 games, it isn't that easy. SO many people had claim that they can emulate a PS2 environment but somehow or rather, they just coulnd't work. I wonder, if there is a emulator which can really works,...not to full 100%, but at least somewhere near?

Well, you're bordering in the illegal zone here. But, my recommendation would be -- if you want to play PS2 games, just pay for the system and the games. No use screwing up your computer over.
That's my opinion. Take it or leave it.

Any time you use an emulator, you are basically recreating the hardware/software environment so that a particular program can run. Which means that not only do you have the lag time, rendering time, and the load time present in the "native" environment, you are adding even more delays by using emulation. As an example, say a PS2 game takes 5 seconds to load a particualr scene on the PS2, now you may be doubling that time in an emulation environment. So what is the return? Slower running times. In first person shooters/racing/sports games, this will probably detract from the enjoyment. You have to decide if saving $179 is worth it.
Myself, I use a modded xbox and like playing the games in their native environment. I tried linux on it, but it wasn't enjoyable to me. Plus there is a graphic web browser for the xbox now and that was the main reason i tried linux on it.
I tried the emulation for some arcade games but it is such a hassle and in my opinion is not worth it.

alls PS2 and X-Box emulators claiming to be working with real games are 100% viruses or malware. for CD based consoles, only PlayStation can be properly emulated in windows and linux.

Well, not all are viruses and malware... I wrote an "X-Box emulator" back in 2002.. in visual basic.
Sure, it didn't play any games, but it circulated enough on irc that more than enough people came into possession of it. It didn't do anything more than popup a windows with the image of a cop telling you your IP address has been transmitted to the FBI with a list of warez you have on your computer.
it was funny.. wish I could find it again.

It's sad how many people go to Kazaa or whatever download files called "PS2 AND Xbox AND Gamecube EMULATOR --- 100s OF GAMES INCLUDED FREE!!!1111.exe", which then turn out to be something like 50K. Honestly, what are they thinking?
That's almost as bad as all the files on those networks called "linux rootkit.exe". I kid you not.
