My Mandrake 7 system suddenly started booting up into read only, and it cant create or modify files and keeps crashing on bootup. This is so damn Microsoft esque, any ideas?

PLBlaze 04-27-2001, 01:30 PM Well,without some more detail none here...but you most likely misconfigured some files (fsab?).See if you can boot to single and remount the fs to read/write and correct the error(s) (eg. linux single mount=/dev/hdaX rw on lilo prompt where /dev/hdaX is your / partiton).Hope this helps. WeDeliver 04-27-2001, 05:03 PM Figured it out. BIOS setting of all thins, wasnt a Ultra ATA hdd, a damn board on a removable hard drive carraige was casuing my settins not to stay. Removed the carraige, good to go. justlinux.com
