Is it possible to run a client like Morpheus on Linux through wine? I used to use Kazaa, but it shutdown on me. :(
* I don't like ANY of the p2p clients I have tried on linux(limewire and audio galaxy) i hear a lot of bad stuff about Gnutella stuff so i don't really want to try this...Is there anything else? (i used to like gNapster, but all the opennap servers suck)
Has anyone done this? thanks.

I've already tried to get Morpheus working under wine but it would always crash out.
And I was never impressed with any of the other P2P apps for Linux, either. Gnutella couldn't even connect to whatever server it was supposed to.
For now it is only Kazaa under Linux, and that's only in CLI (although it really isn't that bad, and is quite functional). Word on the grapevine is though that due to a court order they are to cease making available the Kazaa client for public download or somesuch.. dunno if that has already happened, but chances are if you don't already have it...
And actually.. I'm trying to connect right now, and it doesn't seem to be going through... maybe they were shut down entirely. *shrugs* Dunno.. too lazy to check. Back to work, I guess...

There's nothing wrong with gnutella at all. But if you don't want to try that, try qtella. It uses the gnutella network too but it has a cleaner interface.

jimmy, bte, limwire, bearshare, and i'm not sure how many others are all clients for gnutella. ITs a gnutella world baby (unless you use the fasttrack world).

download in windows, save to windows partition
enjoy in linux :)
Why not use lime wire? It has a gui interface and works verry well. I used the terminal version of kazaa and it was fast but tedius at times and buggy.
