Can anyone point me to a decent movie editing package for Linux? I need to put together some training movies for work, though I don't think they'll spring the money to purchase anything. But there seems to often be a good open source alternative for linux for most things! Anyway, I'd like to be able to take movies from our digital camera and edit out individual sections or splice in others. I would also like to be able to insert graphics slides (with or without accompanying audio). Any recommendations?
Thanks,
JB

You need/want a non-linear video editing program. Lots to be found at freshmeat.net

Just finished searching freshmeat.net for 'video edit' (http://freshmeat.net/search/?q=video+edit§ion=projects&Go.x=0&Go.y=0) and one mentions non-linear.

Cinelerra is excellent. It's not quite Adobe Premiere, but it's close.
I have also heard that Main Actor is also a great program, but I've never tried it.
Oh yeah, and here (http://freshmeat.net/browse/256/) is the list of non-linear editors at freshmeat. You have to browse to it, and it's kind of hard to find unless you know where to look.
