I am gonna recompile my kernel on this release but when i go to /usr/src and do a ls....i get this....
[root@higher src]# ls
redhat
I checked to be sure that the kernel and headers were installed and got this:
[root@higher RPMS]# rpm -q kernel
kernel-2.4.1-0.1.9
[root@higher RPMS]# rpm -q kernel-headers
kernel-headers-2.4.1-0.1.9
So my question is where in the hell is the linux folder that is normally in /usr/src to go into to start 'make xconfig'?

thanks for the replies tho... :)
You do need hte kernel-source package. I don't know why it's not included; it's on my Redhat 7 (non-beta) CD.
Tupelo, eh? I'm originally from Senatobia.
Aside from the fact that I think it's unusual to NOT have at least a /usr/src/linux/include dir when you've already installed the kernel-headers RPM, I'd just grab the latest source from kernel.org and be done with it. Do keep in mind that RH is always seemingly in beta stage, and running a bleeding edge distro like that will have some unusual aspects. ;)
